Start Your Online Business The Fast And Easy Way

It's hard to set up an online business when you don't know where to start and how to keep going.

You want to do it but you just have so many questions that no one will answer -

How do I set up a blog?
How can I set up a blog for free?
How can I make money online?
How can I create a regular online income?

If you search online about how to do these things, one of the first things you'll find is that most of the information is full of hype and trying to sell you a product that guarantees almost overnight millionaire status if you buy it.

So as a breath of fresh air, here is a really simple way you can set up a blog and start making money online for free.

And I'm keeping it really simple for you so even if you don't know anything about creating websites and making money online, you'll be able to do this.

First, search for blogger.com. This is service owned by Google and allows you to set up your own free blog. If you're unsure how to do it, you can do a search on YouTube where you'll find a plethora of videos showing you how. But it's simple anyway.

Next you need to change the blog to get the layout exactly as you want it. This is easy to do thanks to the simple Blogger dashboard that also makes publishing to your blog easy.

You can also search another Google service called FeedBurner which again, is easy to use (and free) and lets you put a signup box on your blog so that visitors can subscribe by email or RSS feed and your blog posts will be automatically sent to them every time you publish something.

You can also upload your blog post titles and a link to them on social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc) to get more visitors to your blog.

Then comes the exciting part. Making money online.

The fastest and simplest way to do this is by placing Pay Per Click advertisements on your blog.

These work by you earning money every time someone clicks on one of these ads, regardless of whether they buy something or not.

Or you can do affiliate marketing which means selling other people's products and services for commission.

You can find a few online affiliate networks such as ClickBank, Commission Junction, ClixGalore, Amazon, and many others, simply by searching for them.

Or do a quick search for a keyword for your niche followed by "affiliate program." So if you have a blog about weight loss, you might search for "weight loss affiliate program."

Affiliate programs are free to join and done correctly, can earn you a full-time income.

And that's all there is to it.

Just pick a niche for your blog.
Set up a free Blogger blog.
Set up a FeedBurner account.
Write your content.
Join affiliate networks to monetise your blog.
Use social media to market your new blog.

Just remember to keep it simple and that you don't have to get it right, you just have to get it going.

Understanding Facebook Insights & Twitter Analytics

In a previous article, we started talking about the importance of knowing how and why it’s necessary to continually be monitoring and analyzing your social media analytics. When I first began testing, I wasn’t ready to delve into tools and putting budget towards analytics just yet.

Luckily, Twitter and Facebook have been doing more and more to allow users to monitor results on their platforms while in the app (or desktop).

Keep in mind – you have the ability to track almost any kind of data imaginable. That doesn’t mean that all is necessary and relevant to YOU. Sort through the data to determine what is most important for you to learn about your community to help further your ability to reach your goals and grow your engagement.

Facebook Insights

Image via Shutterstock

Each admin of a Facebook page has access to insights. You can find these by clicking the Insights tab in the Menu bar at the top of your page. This will give you ‘insight’ into your posts, your fans and your reach.

There are many things you can look at in Insights: weekly reach, how well each post has done, what is being looked at the longest…There are six ways Facebook breaks down the information:

  1. Overview – this shows how your page is doing, how many new “likes” you received, and how each post was received, how many people engaged with it, what times they saw it, how many people shared the content…
  2. Likes – This shows you how many new likes you have received and how many people have un-liked the page. If you are doing an ad campaign on Facebook, this is where you will see how many organic vs paid likes you have received.
  3. Reach – this data tells you how many people saw each piece of content you posted, if anyone liked it, clicked on it or shared it.
  4. Visits – looking at visits will show you the number of times the different tabs on your page (photos tab, info tab, timeline, etc.) were viewed, and how any times people came to your page from a website outside of Facebook.
  5. Posts – this might be the most important piece to look at. Posts show you a breakdown of the days and times your fans are online, the paid and organic reach of your posts, as well as interactions with them i.e. comments or likes.
  6. People - I like to break down the people that like my brand’s pages. You are able to see the gender of the people that like that certain page, as well as their age and locations. Having demographic data for your community can further help you tailor your content to relate the most to them. Some people call this “creating target audience personas,” but I’m not a huge fan of that term.

Facebook Audience Insights

You can further break down the information on all the people that have “liked” your Facebook page. There are five ways Facebook has broken down this information: Demographics, Page Likes, Location and Language, Facebook usage (are your visitors coming from mobile, desktop, etc) and Activity (are people coming to your page to shop? Just to gather info?)

Once you become more comfortable looking at and analyzing this data, it will help show you what sort of content your audience is looking for from you, so you know what to post more of or less of. This information will also give you a better idea of what you might want to spend money on: posts that might be worth “boosting,” or whether you should begin Facebook Ads at any certain time.

This is just the beginning of all the Facebook Insights offers. Which insights have you found to be most helpful?

Twitter Analytics

Image via Shutterstock

Midway through 2015, Twitter rolled out their native analytics platform, available to all Twitter users. In Twitter Analytics, you are provided with a 28 day review of the response for each tweet – what people have RTd, mentioned, clicked on and marked as a favorite.

Just like Facebook Insights, Twitter offers you a variety of measurable metrics. The options that I have found most useful are:

1. Tweet Activity - If you click on any individual tweet, you are shown all the engagement on that tweet, including clicks on URLs if there is one in the post, how many people clicked your username in response to reading that specific tweet, and clicks on images if there is one in the post, expanded details.

     1.  This is further broken down into 3 sections:

       1.  Impressions – here you can choose a date range to see how many impressions you have received on your tweets. It is broken down by organic impressions and paid (promoted tweets, ads, etc) You are kept within a 91 day (random) window for the dates you can choose to analyze. Most valuable here could be the “Impressions by Time of Day,” so you know moving forward, when most of your community is available to speak with!

          2.   Engagements – There are no filters here, but you are given a wide range of information       including:

Impressions, Retweets, Replies, Favorites, and User Profile Clicks. What I have found interesting is how many times I have had a tweet retweeted, without the person actually opening the link included in the tweet. In my eyes, I see this as people beginning to have trust in what I (or my brands/clients) are tweeting and see it as beneficial. Also, that could show that certain words and headlines resonate with our community.

2.  Followers – This might be my favorite analytic on the Twitter interface. Not only can you see the demographics of your followers, their marital status and location, you can further break down the information via the Lifestyle tab. The information here shows you the Top 10 interests of your followers. By learning the subjects your followers tweet about the most, you are then able to join conversations about things that interest them, find things you have in common with to help begin engagement, and get a better understanding of the content your followers would be most interested in receiving from you.

8 Expert Marketing Tips For LinkedIn

Want to improve your LinkedIn marketing?

Are you interested in the latest tips and tools?

LinkedIn is one of the most effective platforms for expanding your reach and improving your business results. We asked social media experts for their hottest LinkedIn tips.

Here’s what they had to say.

Discover eight LinkedIn marketing tips from the experts.

#1: Learn Valuable Info From LinkedIn Publisher Stats

Melonie Dodaro

The new LinkedIn Publisher stats offer amazing insight into not only how many people are viewing each post, but the length of life of each post, reader demographics and the people who engage with your posts.

To see your stats, go to the Who’s Viewed Your Posts tab, which is located under Profile in the main navigation under Who’s Viewed Your Profile.

See the stats for each Publisher post under the Who’s Viewed Your Posts tab.

Click on any post to see a graph that shows the number of views by the last 7 days, 15 days, 30 days, 6 months or 1 year.

This gives you incredible perspective to see the shelf life of each post. Review these numbers, as well as the elements of the posts themselves, to see patterns that will tell you what topics, format and length your readers are most interested in.

See how many page views each post has received.

LinkedIn also provides you with the demographics of the readers for each post.View the top four industries, job titles, locations and traffic sources that showed interest in your posts.

Based on this information, you can see if your content is reaching your intended audience. You can also determine if there is a need for your products or services with a niche market you had not previously considered.

Learn the top four industries, job titles and locations of your readers and how they found your post.

Finally, see who engaged with your posts by liking or commenting on them. Since this includes people you are not directly connected to, it makes it an excellent opportunity to find potential prospects or partners.

Look through the list of those who have actively engaged with your content to find potential prospects.

This only scratches the surface of what you can learn and how you can use LinkedIn’s new invaluable feature Who’s Viewed Your Posts.

Melonie Dodaro is author of The LinkedIn Code and founder of Top Dog Social Media.

#2: Invest in LinkedIn Sales Navigator

Kristina Jaramillo

LinkedIn is steadily restricting functionality from the free version that business owners and sales and marketing leaders need, which includes a limited view of prospects inside targeted companies. It’s time to consider investing in Sales Navigator. (This is something I didn’t advise in the past.)

Sales Navigator assists with buyer identification and prospect research. Plus, it helps you engage with decision-makers more effectively, as it provides real insights into what your prospects care about. This is important because reach without engagement means nothing.

You even get news about the company, so you can create messaging around trigger events. For example, for one of our clients, we took advantage of a major airliner’s IT outage. We engaged in sales conversation with tech leaders who wanted to learn about a new approach and a rising technology that would keep it from happening again.

Even though LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a great platform that’s worth the investment, it’s still just one piece of the puzzle. All the lead suggestions and insights won’t help if you don’t have the right messages, content and approach to enable sales using LinkedIn. You also need a strategy your tools can support.

Kristina Jaramillo is founder of GetLinkedInHelp.com.

#3: Network On The Go

Linda Coles

Instead of surfing Facebook during downtime between appointments, increase brand exposure by using LinkedIn on your mobile device. Use LinkedIn itself or companion apps.

If you only spend 10 minutes per day sharing great content with your connections on LinkedIn, it will keep your brand on their radar. Plus, it’s simple to do on the go. Be strategic about connecting with new folks or start conversations with recent contacts.

When making a connection request, always personalize your message by clicking Customize Invite.
A generic message is bad connecting etiquette. Plus, it’s not something you would ever do in person.

So stand out and do it right.

Always personalize your messages on LinkedIn.

Also, download LinkedIn Connected, which allows you to easily keep in contact with people you already know. Click on the grey head and shoulders image on the top right of that person’s update, you can “star” them. This will ensure LinkedIn keeps you informed with what’s going on in their world.

LinkedIn Connected allows you to easily keep in contact with people you already know.

LinkedIn Connected is a great tool for dropping someone a congratulatory line on a new role or to say happy birthday. You can even add an emoji if you wish.

Nurture new relationships with prospects in a very low-key way. Just a few minutes per day of networking on LinkedIn can provide great results.

Linda Coles is a speaker and author of Marketing with Social Media: 10 Easy Steps to Success for Business.

#4: Optimize LinkedIn For SEO

Chris Raulf

LinkedIn now sports 364,000,000+ members and this rapidly growing social media platform consistently ranks highest for its B2B lead generation value, finding new talent or landing a new job. Yet, many companies are still not aware of the search engine optimization value LinkedIn offers.

Treat and optimize your LinkedIn company page for SEO just as you would any page on your website. Just follow these four easy steps:

1. Add your 3-4 most important target SEO keywords right at the top of the LinkedIn company page description. Separate keywords by a special charactersuch as a * and try to keep it to 90-100 characters.

2. Add a double space and use 150-160 characters to write a compelling and engaging sentence about your company that also includes your 2-4 most important target SEO keywords.

3. Now, add a double space again and provide an extended version of information about your company. I recommend you use about 5-7 variations of your primary target SEO keywords.

4.Google seems to pay quite a bit of attention to the Specialties section of your LinkedIn company page. You have 256 characters and multiple fields available to add your primary and additional SEO
target keywords.

.

Add your SEO keywords to the Specialties section of your LinkedIn company page.

Optimize your LinkedIn page for SEO. You’ll see it really works!

Chris Raulf is the founder and digital marketing expert at Boulder SEO Marketing.

#5: Market Smart

Jon Rognerud

Before posting anything on social media, you need to ask yourself: “Why am I doing this _______ (insert creative asset here), who benefits and what would I like them to do next?”

When posting on LinkedIn (for example, for purposes of B2B lead generation), research and engage with new users and groups before reaching out with appropriate content.

Here’s what I recommend:

1. Research, find, join and connect with related groups within your niche.

2. Join the conversation. Like posts and comment with useful insights. Plus, note what’s trending/popular and write it down.

3. Reach out directly. Connect with new people via profile email or InMail. Then, share related, helpful articles and insights, keeping in mind the questions above. Create content that you can place on your blog, video channel, podcast or in a LinkedIn post. Drive your visitor back to your preferred online asset. Also, use remarketing/retargeting where you can continue to build your audience. Advanced users, send your special “Dream Client List” a follow-up hello-style letter in the mail too.

Do this for at least 30 days and watch your quality leads go up while you build authority and trust!

Jon Rognerud is the founder and chief cartographer at Chaosmap.

#6: Develop Authority With LinkedIn’s Publishing Platform

Stephanie Sammons

The best marketing opportunity on LinkedIn right now is the publishing platform, where you can publish long-form content to share with your network and beyond. I’ve often said that you don’t have to be officially crowned as a LinkedIn influencer to become one. With this publishing platform, there is a tremendous opportunity to build momentum and establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry or niche.

Keep in mind, content themes associated with business and career tend to work best on LinkedIn’s publishing platform. Write articles about your own business and industry expertise or career experiences to differentiate yourself and stand out.Share your unique perspective and insights. The frequency of your posts will also make a difference in growing your visibility, reach and engagement. Don’t expect to see meaningful results unless you make a commitment to publishing content consistently on LinkedIn’s platform.

Here are three reasons to jump on the LinkedIn publishing platform:

1. Position yourself as an industry expert. A big reason clients and customers do business with you is because of your unique perspective. Sharing how you think and providing insights and guidance through your LinkedIn posts can position you as the go-to expert in your industry.

2. Increase your reach. As you publish more posts on LinkedIn, you will earn more followers (which are different from connections). Your followers can see your published posts and share with their respective networks. Your LinkedIn posts will also be indexed by Google search and can be discovered across the social web outside of LinkedIn as well.

3. Generate new leads. In every LinkedIn post you publish, include a simple call to action either within the post or at the end in your bio section. For example, I offer a free guide in the bio section of my LinkedIn posts that links to a landing page on my website.

These are only a few of the benefits to publishing your thought leadership content to LinkedIn. If you haven’t started already, develop your LinkedIn publishing plan and write about the most frequently asked questions in your industry or market. Jump on this opportunity now while it’s still in the early stages.

#7: Track the LinkedIn Profiles You Visit

John Nemo

One of the challenges you can run into with LinkedIn is keeping track of all of the profiles you visit during a given day or week.Install the Google Chrome Internet browser add-on called Dux-Soup, and you have a great way to automate the process.

Dux-Soup lets you export a .CSV file of every LinkedIn profile you’ve visited in any given time frame. This .CSV file lets yousee the name of the person whose profile you visited, his or her LinkedIn ID, job title, company name, location, email, phone number and more.

The reason I love Dux-Soup is that after I spend an hour visiting the profiles of people in a target audience and sending them messages or invites to connect, I can now remember and track all the activity with one simple export.

Dux-Soup will save you hours of manual data entry when it comes to tracking all of the people you come across and interact with on LinkedIn. The premium version costs $15.00 per month, and comes with additional features, including the ability to automatically visit profiles of LinkedIn users based on Google or LinkedIn searches you make.

Note: I don’t recommend auto-visiting or mass-visiting LinkedIn profiles of people you don’t know just for the sake of trying to gain visibility, which is the purpose of that feature with Dux-Soup and similar browser add-ons like Autopilot for LinkedIn. Some consider auto-visiting profiles a violation of LinkedIn’s Terms of Service, and/or a “black hat”–type approach to networking on LinkedIn.

With all that said, I’ve found Dux-Soup to be invaluable when it comes to tracking and organizing the profiles of people I’ve visited on LinkedIn.

#8: Manage Your Company Page Like a Boss

Jason Miller

The new LinkedIn Company Page Notification Center streamlines how you manage your company page, while allowing you to better understand which updates and content are performing the best. Now all of your company page activity can be viewed in one place in a single view.

Open the new Company Page Notification Center dashboard, and you:

  • Get an aggregated overview of how many likes, comments and shares you’ve received on the updates on your company page and also see how often your company has been mentioned by LinkedIn members on the platform

  • View every publicly shared mention of your company on LinkedIn

  • See all of the most recent likes, comments and shares your company has received in a single view

  • Comment and like as a company representative in response to mentions about your company

In addition, company page notifications are now displayed as multiple interactions aggregated into a single notification for admins. This makes it easier to manage a company’s LinkedIn presence, while also keeping track of personal notifications from their network.

With greater insights into how the content and messaging on your LinkedIn company page is performing, you can make better decisions around which types of content to post to better engage with your target audience.

Jason Miller is the senior content marketing manager at LinkedIn and leads content and social strategy for LinkedIn Marketing Solutions.

Conclusion

There’s no better way to step up your business game than to be active on LinkedIn. The platform is constantly making improvements, so individuals and businesses can get more out of it. Plus, there are tactics, aside from LinkedIn itself, to increase organization, engagement and visibility. Explore these tools and tips, and see which ones work best for you and your business.

What do you think? Do you use any of these LinkedIn marketing tips and tools? What has been your experience? What other little-known LinkedIn tips to you have to share? Please leave your comments and questions below.

100+ Attention-Grabbing Blog Post Titles

You’ve probably heard this a lot of times.

But YES.

Having a catchy title is the key to grabbing people’s attention. It's your golden ticket to increased traffic and wider audience.

You need to elicit interest, emotion, and curiosity in your potential readers to make your blog post title as irresistible as possible.

Plus, it plays a crucial role in improving your search ranking.

For example, you're writing an article about starting a website, instead of using "Creating A Website" as a blog title, you'd want to write "How To Start A Website in 3 Easy Steps" or "How To Start A Website in Less Than 20 Minutes" instead.

Not only it's more attractive, your post also get a higher chance of landing in the first pages in the search results since it's more specific and there's less competition for the latter phrase (a.k.a long tail keywords) than the former.

You get it.

So be creative. Be intriguing.

We all know the importance of a great title, but how can we really achieve this?

6 Quick Tips For Writing Titles

(Scroll down for the title templates!)

Before you can actually write a great headline, you need to know the principles, tips, and guides behind. There are different ways that you can come up with an attention-grabbing title, but the fundamental principles remain the same.

1. Use catchy adjective words.

Add some color to your title. The stronger and thought-provoking your adjectives are, the better you get people to take action.

2. Use numbers.

Start off your title with numbers. It draws people's attention. It's a great way to tell your audience how much exactly they're going to get. Studies show that digits work better than words (So instead of writing “five”, write “5”).

3. Use popular search queries such as how-to, what is.

Generally speaking, people are looking for something useful and relevant. Plus, most searchers look for HOW-TO and WHAT-IS post. Beside catching people's attention, including “how to” or “what is” in your title will also attract the search engines.

4. Keep it short and focused.

An effective title is short enough can convey the best message possible. The title must be concise, but at the same time descriptive. Don't forget to include keywords for SEO and avoid jargons. I prefer using less than 70 characters since Google cuts off titles longer than that. Use Meta Length to check your title count!

5. Never mislead.

If your title doesn’t coincide with the main message of your post, you’ll lose credibility and tarnish your reputation. While it might be tempting to manipulate your title just to get more attention, it’ll only hurt your blog in the future. Not to mention that search engine will eventually ignore your site because your title does not match with its content.

6. Don’t limit yourself.

Read and listen to other people, but you should never lose your uniqueness in the process. Be creative!

I. BLOG POST TITLE TEMPLATES

Here's a huge collection of blog post titles you can add to your "Swipe File". Look into a subject you're interested in and find a way on how you can use these templates. Don't forget to scroll down for the "add-ons" to make your headlines even more seductive!

How You Can Make Money With Facebook #3

how you make money on Facebook part 3

Welcome to my third and final installment in this blog series…How YOU Make Money on Facebook Part III!

Before I get started I want to make sure you understand exactly what I am attempting to do with this series…I have built a very successful business and made a lot of money using Facebook and I want to show YOU how to do the same thing!

If this is something you are interested in? Then you are in the right place!

In Part 1 of this series I revealed my Facebook community-building strategy and my own Facebook selling formula. Then, in Part 2 of the series I gave you my exact Facebook posting strategy, along with examples, and showed you how I get$109,500 worth of FREE Facebook fan page likes every year without spending a penny on Facebook page promotion ads. I also gave you two real-world examples of Facebook posts that together helped add six-figures in annual revenue to my business.

If you would like Part 1, 2 and 3 all rolled into one easy to read PDF, you can download it now. (See link at bottom of article).

Today I am going to show you exactly how I made $64,287 on Facebook with an ads spend of only $3,971!

Sound good? Then let’s do this!

Selling Products Directly on Facebook DOES NOT Work

Let me qualify this statement a little. Yes, I have built ads leading directly to sales pages and have sold hundreds of products that way. So, in some respects selling products directly on Facebook does work, but nowhere near as well as other Facebook selling strategies. This graphic will help me explain:

A $2,850.61 Experiment Gone Wrong

This was a Facebook Ad I ran directly to the landing page for a very successful product of mine called Twitter Growth Domination 2.0. For just $9 you can learn how to grow a large and targeted following on Twitter in 15 minutes a day. I KNEW the product was a hit because I sold THOUSANDS of copies elsewhere. It bombed in this Facebook ad…well, relatively speaking. Trust me, I built a great custom audience to sell the product to. I also did multi-variant, 3-level split-testing (I know, I know…it makes my head hurt just saying that…more on that later) so I know I had the best 2 out of 216 possible ad combinations to run traffic to. Yes, I was able to reach 250,000+ people and had nearly 5,000 website clicks, but my Click-Thru Rate (CTR) was embarrassingly low. I could not get past .7% as hard as I tried and I consider anything less than 1.0% – 1.5% a failure. I paid .59 cents per click (way too high!) and my “relevance score” was a 5. Worse than all of that was that I captured ZERO e-mail addresses, other than the 171 people who bought the product, and I had only 5 upsells to the next $47 product Twitter Sales Shortcuts. So, the “Return on Investment” (ROI) on this one ad was:

ROI = ($1,774/$2,850) x 100 = 62%

So what in the world was happening? Where had I gone wrong?

Selling Products Indirectly on Facebook Works MUCH Better!

Now let me give you an example of what DOES work using the exact same products. I’ll start again with the actual Facebook ads graphic:

Believe it, or not, this is a Facebook Ad for the exact same two products (plus a third upsell!). The main difference is that I didn’t try to sell the product directly from the Facebook Ad. Instead I gave away this free eBook:

This is a BIGGEE…inside the eBook was a link to the Twitter Growth Domination 2.0 upsell I mentioned above along with two more upsells once you entered the sales funnel. The CTR for this ad was a huge 2.70%, and I ended up paying just .55 per qualified lead! Note: If you can EVER pay under $1 for a qualified lead that you can market to time-after-time because they are on your e-mail list, do it all day long! You will make your money back many times over! Yes, I spent $3,971.64 to give something away for FREE, but in return I…

Captured 7,217 qualified leads
Built my e-mail list with thousands of future repeat buyers
Sold $13,197 worth of my Twitter Growth Domination 2.0 product
Sold $13,019 worth of my Twitter Sales Shortcut Product
Sold $38,071 worth of my Social Selling Made Simple Inner Circle Membership

Now let us see what that ROI looks like:

ROI = ($64,287/$3,971) x 100 = 1,619%

A little better, right? Plus, the biggest win is that I have added these people to my e-mail list which means I can offer them more amazing, value-based products in the future! Multi-Variant, 3-Level Split Testing (blah..blah..blah!) I promise, that will be the last time I say that! All this means is that I let Facebook do a bunch of work on telling me which ad variables are performing the best. I make changes to my Facebook ads in 3 areas over time based on how they are doing:

1. Graphics

I have found that the graphic makes the biggest difference on the performance of the ad. Above is the actual ad I used to give away the free eBook I was telling you about. Facebook makes it incredibly easy to load up to 6 graphics for each ad and they will test to see which ones pull the best with your audience:

I ran the ad with all six graphics for a couple of days and there was a clear winner:

2. Headline

Armed with the best graphic, I then went to work on the area where I usually get the next greatest improvement in ad performance, the headline!

Can you spot the difference?

Another couple of days and I had another BIG improvement in performance!

3. Copy

Now I had the best performing graphic with the best performing headline. The only thing left to do was work on the copy:

The graphic I led off this section with was the final result of my efforts. The bottom line is I spent just a few days and less than 10% of my ad budget to build a Facebook ad that not only worked, but DOMINATED! I dropped my Cost Per Click (CPC) 13.5% and increased my CTR by 19.2% Let me pause for a minute to say this…

YOU CAN TOTALLY DO THIS!!!

A Few Words About Pixeling, Custom Audiences, Retargeting and Lookalike Audiences

Doing highly targeted Facebook Advertising absolutely works and Facebook has built some amazing tools to help you do exactly that. It all starts with the “pixel”! A pixel is a piece of code that Facebook builds for you that you can place in the header of a landing page that tells Facebook whenever someone clicks on any page where that code is installed. Facebook will accumulate those “pixel fires” into something called a “custom audience” and you can advertise (retarget) directly to those people. Once you exhaust that audience with the click of a button Facebook will build you another audience that looks a lot like the one you just finished advertising to. That is called a lookalike audience. I have a minimum of 5 pixels (some Facebook and some Google Analytics) installed on all 500+ pages of my kimgarst.com website as well as the pages of the 11 other domains I use.

With these pixels I build Custom Audiences with people who have taken certain actions (like visited a sales page but NOT purchased the product) and run very specific Facebook Ads to them. I can also track the movement of prospects through the various stages of my sales funnels as well as conversions along the way. My results are off the hook! That being said, you can still make the greatest improvement to your bottom line by first mastering the “indirect traffic” and split-testing techniques I showed you above.
